We have no choice but to temporarily switching from the regular face-to-face teaching to online mode.
Students and teachers are all going through a very difficult time. But, remember, whenever there is a crisis, there is an opportunity. Now is a great opportunity to learn how to balance our emotions, how to digest/analyze news, and how to discipline ourselves to learning online effectively.
Our teaching and learning are all online -- at least for now. Online learning requires a lot of discipline. By now, I would assume that most of us are starting to lag behind teaching and learning schedule. While lagging behind is normal, such situation can be changed. Remember the key of online learning -- Discipline, DISCIpline, DISCIPLINE!
How to discipline ourselves? In my opinion, the best thing to do is to write up a timetable for the week and follow through the schedule. Without a timetable, likely we will be randomly spending our own time on watching TV, playing online games, reading the instant news about the pandemic, etc. Soon, we will be blaming ourselves or blaming the pandemic for drifting us away from learning. Yes, no doubt about it, the pandemic plays a role. Don't forget, we, ourselves, are responsible too! I sincerely hope, my students will mark a reasonable amount of "lecture time" and the "self study time" to watch the video lecture, read the book chapters, and work on the test banks.
When you have any difficulty in learning, you should not hesitate in posting your questions in the forum or send your teachers an email message. After all, your teachers have obligation to help you learn.
